In the field of commodity SSDs, this series from PQI is not much different than any other manufacturer - with one exception: it has a built-in USB 2.0 port. The documentation makes no mention of it and I would have never noticed it when searching for an SSD, but I saw the connector in a picture. I scoured the web for more pictures, and sure enough, next to the SATA connector is a mini-USB connector. Why is this useful? It's like a super-giant USB flash fob! I have mine connected directly to a car media player and it is a champ! I was all set have to get a SATA-to-USB adapter and case and all manner of bungle but this handy device is everything rolled into one. I covered the unused SATA connector with electrical tape and it is good to go. Performance over USB is very speedy - much faster than any USB fob or SD card I have used. I suspect that it is due to the fact the memory array is designed to run at SATA 300 speeds.
