Blazing fast, BUT... I have 3 of these. All 3 have died within 2 months of use. Patriot's web forum has lots of users reporting the same. Avoid this drive.

Just purchased a high end workstation with Patriot 128GB Torqx as the System Drive and Windows 7.

This is that fastest and most noticeable speed improvement in Computer performance in a decade... in spite of Microsoft!

Expensive... but if you need top performance, it's worth every penny.

Faster than a standard drive, but maybe not as reliable?

Hello,

I have had this product for about a 2 weeks now, and it is very fast.

It speeds up everything at least 50%, which I really like.

I realize Solid State Drives are considered a newer technology, and things may not be perfect, but I am sold on them.

I am using it on our Web Design computers, and our Adobe CS4 design software operates much faster.

We will continue testing these drives, and hope to convert our Web Servers over to them as soon as testing with the Linux OS is complete.

Jan., 2010 Followup to above initial review.

The Drive died one morning when I tried to start my computer.

Well it really did not last very long!

I have sent it back to Patriot Memory per their 10 year warrenty, and I am waiting for the replacement drive to be sent back to me.

Buy it for the warranty

10 year warranty is nothing to sneeze at. I bought mine 6 months ago, after 1 month it failed on me, and after reading online about it, found out that it was part of a bad batch of them. Sent it in(free shipping), 5 days later had a new one with another 10 year warranty; works perfectly. Their customer service is excellent, timely and efficient.

The drive itself is blazing. I am getting over 300mb/s read and give or take 280 write. 32 second start up time from when i press the button(laptop). I have read that others have had their drives fail on them like me, but as far as I know, it was just that one bad batch of them. My experience with Patriot has made me give this product 5 stars. Hopefully yours will be the same!

10 YEAR WARRANTY!!!!
Problem Drive

When this drive works it is great. The problem is they tend to die on you. I had one suddenly die on me after a few months of use. I lost everything. I went through the RMA process and got a new drive. I have used it for a few months now and again just like the last one the replacement has died. I lost everything. This time I had a Windows Home Server backing up my system nightly so I can recover everything but it is still not fun. I checked around some forums and it doesn't look like Patriot has this problem under control yet and it has been going on for a long time. I would avoid this drive. In fact now that mine has died again I am going to get a drive from another manufacturer and use my replacement torqx in a secondary system because I can't trust them anymore.
died after about 4 months

Ater 4 months or so, It just died. I took it to a computer repair shop; nothing doing, completely dead and no way to salvage anything. Total loss of more than $200, plus some important data. There was no warning, not even from a program monitoring all my HDs.
very fast read speeds..silent..no heat...

It was the fastest thing in my computer, note I said was! After 3 months of preforming like a champ it died, and just like this drive is quicker than disk drives they fail with 0 warning, unlike a old dick drive that "has problems" before they go, this just up and died with no warning while being used. oh well it will get replaced.
Pass on a Patriot SSD

I bought 2 also back in December and both of mine have failed also. Pass on a Patriot SSD. Their customer support and RMA process is also garbage. I would have gave 0 stars but couldn't.
Finally OK

It took 3 replacements and 3 firmware updates before this drive finally worked Ok! Hopefully, they've finally got it right!
