Slow SSD!

This must've been an interim product for OCZ. Their later SSDs get good reviews, but this was junk. My 7200 RPM drive was just as fast.

When I tried to figure out why it was so slow, I read some reviews stating that the JMicron controller used in this device is the problem. It can only handle one operation at at time, so if you have a few things trying to access the HDD (which is normal), the whole device slows down.

The most throughput I could expect from the drive was ~25MB/s, which is not impressive for an SSD or the price.
Wait for the Samsun 256GB SSD's

The prices of these will be dropping rapidly in the next year, or even the next few months. Samsung is coming out with a much faster SSD. That is the one you want. When it hits the streets, the price on these OCZ drives will drop rapidly--because no one will want them.
